A contract caterer with numerous corporate clients was having to demonstrate sustainability in pitches and answer frequent questions on sustainability, but consistency was a challenge, especially in the supply chain. There were passionate about supporting smaller local suppliers, but that meant they had a very long tail of suppliers. Their team was asking suppliers about ESG via different channels (over email/on the phone) and getting different answers. They needed a single point of truth.

The Solution

By streamlining supplier engagement through the Tried & Supplied platform, they were able to create a single point of truth for all their ESG claims and eliminate the discrepancies that had previously undermined their confidence in making claims. We were also able to fill in some of their knowledge gaps so that they ended up with a more complete dataset that could support a wider variety of claims and answer a greater number of customer questions.

The Result

They are now confident in communicating their sustainability to customers and have seen this reflected in an uplift in sales and increased customer satisfaction. ESG is now incorporated into supplier tenders and performance reviews and it has become much faster to onboard new suppliers while ensuring compliance with the company ESG policies.
