The in-house catering team of one of Europe's oldest banks had put a lot of effort into doing things as sustainably as possible, but were unable to communicate this effectively and gain recognition for their efforts. They also knew that there was more they could do in the supply chain, but didn't know what to focus on or how to make it happen. They had been finding the Sustainable Restaurant Association rating gave them a useful framework, but it took them a lot of time to complete each year.
Supplier engagement and ESG reporting through Tried & Supplied automated the answers to many of the SRA questions. The Tried & Supplied dashboard provided ESG information on both a supplier and product level, which enabled them to quickly answer questions like how much of their fish spend was on MSC certified products. This data then formed the basis of formalising their first sustainable procurement policy.
The team halved the time they spent on their SRA submission; was able to provide data to answer more questions; and was awarded the full 3 stars as a result. They have now formalised their sustainable procurement policy and brought in our managed services to support them in engaging suppliers and driving sustainability throughout their supply chain with an ambition to put themselves forward for various ESG awards next year.
